Review: Egglo Entertainment

With Easter just around the corner it’s a pleasure to be able to share with you my review of a group of products from Egglo Entertainment.

logotrademark_zps9kiaabrv The review is part of my role as a member of The Old Schoolhouse Review Crew. Products we were asked to review included Glow in the Dark Egglo Eggs, The Egg-cellent Easter Adventure book, Egglo Treasures Scripture Scrolls, Egglo Bible Verse Stickers, and The Egglo Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt Event Curriculum.

The first product I wanted to play with was the Glow in the Dark Egglo Eggs! These are a super fun egg that glow in the dark when you charge them in the sun for about 20-30 minutes.

While my eggs were charging I copied a page out of our math book.

Math is ALWAYS more fun when you have to go hunt for your problems in cool glowing Easter eggs…

Needless to say both kids – the hider and the finder – loved the hunt. I was worried about losing time on math, and while it may have taken a couple of minutes longer, the fun and the great attitude I saw made it totally worth it.  I think the glowing math hunt will definitely be a regular in our home. It’s always fun to come up with ways to make homeschooling more fun – and glow in the dark treasure hunts (even if it’s for math or a chore assignment) – totally help with that!

After playing with the eggs the kids both read The Egg-cellent Easter Adventure book. I will admit they were both disappointed when they couldn’t time travel with the eggs, but they thought the story was cute and both had ideas on younger kids who they thought would enjoy the book. I think the book would be a great read aloud for the younger crowd, or a nice addition to the Easter book pile for kids reading well and aged 7-10.

My kids love all things miniature, so they totally enjoyed the Egglo Treasures Scripture Scrolls. I thought it was fun to hide them and encourage them with scripture throughout the day. My favorite spot – toothbrushes!

Now there’s even more motivation to brush!

I’m planning on making an Easter package for my older niece and nephew – and some scrolls will be in those. I’m sure even the college kids will think they’re cool.

Since we’re in a bit of an arts and craft wave here, and spend TOO MUCH time at the local Hobby store,  I thought it would be fun to use the Egglo Bible Verse Stickers in a craft. I bought some plain Easter eggs and challenged the kids and a friend to decorate the eggs with the verses and markers.

They did a great job and now they’re all on display with our Lent Tree. I love any opportunity to share scripture with the kids, especially during Lent as we prepare our hearts for Easter.

Egglo Curriculum_zpshede0noaA final resource we were given was The Egglo Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt Event Curriculum. If you run a small group with kids, teach Sunday School, or work with kids, this is a great resource. I know many of us struggle with balancing the profound importance of Easter with making things fun for little ones, and the The Egglo Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt Event Curriculum can help you with that.

Absolutely, the Glow in the Dark Egglo Eggs are cool. The Egglo Treasures Scripture Scrolls and Egglo Bible Verse Stickers are adorable and fun. But what I appreciated most about getting to do this review is that Egglo Entertainment seeks to keep the message of Easter focused on Christ. That’s a company I’m happy to support.
