It’s been a week.
A LONG week.
A blessed amazing week.
For the official Weekly Report – school got done, for the most part. Math, science, Advent bible readings, Sonlight stuff, some writing assignments – done. Latin – done. Need to rework that a bit. Next week our plans include: math, Latin, science projects, and pre-holiday fun and crafts.
We were going to go out of town.
That’s the good side.
It’ll be a whole post on it’s own, but the trip we were going to make next week, we’re cancelling. I’m sore. And tired. And may have to shop for a new (to me, anyway) car. The kids weren’t with me, Praise God, so it’s just me recovering. I think I need a little more time before a cross country adventure. And naps. And maybe ibu.
One good thing about staying here in town – Big’s Big Project. This week Big and some friends started a new project. They’re painting a barn quilt for the local county county quilt trail. It’s a great project for them – they had to plan it, pick colors, prep a 4×4′ square, measure it… and more. This week they worked a ton and will began painting colors next week.
Today, Friday, was pretty light. Normally it’s math test day, some editing and printing in writing, and weekly wrap up. Today was also baking day. Little needs some cooking for a Court of Honor tomorrow, and we needed to make some cookies to deliver to the brake guys. 3 batches. At once. I love my Bosch!!
Next week we’ll do some more Advent adventures. This week we started the old tradition of Advent. We prepare our hearts for Christmas, celebrate, focus. I like to do some fun things as often as possible. Today was working in the Food Pantry. It was our first trip and we’ll definitely go help twice a month. The kids really enjoyed it. Monday was a trip to THE BEST BISCUIT PLACE in the world. Bacon Biscuits, and fried pies. Yum. Seriously. I’ll spend some time working this weekend to plan some more adventures.
That’s the week. Lots of normal and a rough, amazing, blessed day. We’re tapering now toward Christmas.
How about YOU!? How was your week? What are your plans before Christmas?
